Ira Glass

Since it first aired in 1995, Ira Glass's This American Life has covered stories on summer camp, cloned bulls, the financial crisis and the life of the private detective. He's discovered the original formula for Coca Cola and answered the question, "What is money" (Turns out, it's fictional. Don't worry -- we don't get it either.) TAL has earned several Peabody and DuPont-Columbia awards. The American Journalism Review declared that the show is "at the vanguard of a journalistic revolution." In 2001, Time magazine named Glass "Best Radio Host in America." In 2009, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting awarded Glass the Edward R. Murrow Award for outstanding contributions to public radio. Glass now brings his unique insight on the American experience to Overture Hall.
